Nicole Metz

Vice President of HR in Government Contracting U.S. Intelligence Sector

Every long career has a defining moment. For Nicole Metz, that moment arrived when she moved from selling solutions to teaching others how to succeed.

She began her professional journey at Xerox Corporation as a Major Account Manager in Federal Sales, where she managed client relationships, sales goals, and complex business needs. That experience gave her a practical understanding of what organizations expect from their people. It showed her that success often depends on preparation, guidance, and the ability to develop the right skills.

Nicole Metz transitioned into Xerox’s training organization as a Sales Training Specialist, where she trained hundreds of newly hired sales representatives in foundational and advanced selling techniques, product knowledge, professional services, and marketing strategies. She became certified to deliver the company’s complete sales training curriculum and maintained strong participant satisfaction results throughout her tenure. Her experience as a successful salesperson also gave her credibility as an instructor, allowing her to connect real-world performance with effective learning.

During this period, she earned President’s Club recognition for sales achievement, reflecting her ability to excel both as a producer and as a developer of others. She understood that effective training was not only about transferring information but about helping people build confidence and capability.

As Sales Training Program Manager, Nicole Metz expanded her impact by preparing future training leaders rather than only frontline employees. She taught training managers Xerox’s buyer-focused selling methodology, coaching techniques, performance feedback practices, and employee development planning processes. She also contributed to the Xerox People Development Board, supporting talent development initiatives and professional growth across the organization while designing and leading off-site learning programs.

This progression from sales professional to trainer to talent development leader became the foundation of Nicole Metz’s broader career in human resources. She later held leadership positions with Nextel Communications and ACTERNA Corporation before spending approximately eight years with Science Applications International Corporation, where she served as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and Director of Talent Development and Management. She concluded her corporate career as Senior Director of Talent Management for the Intelligence Group at TASC Corporation and has also led her own consulting practice focused on organizational development.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Business Administration from Marymount University, graduating with honors. She has maintained professional affiliations with organizations including the Society for Human Resource Management and the Association for Talent Development.

Throughout her career, she has followed a simple belief: people rarely become exceptional by chance. They improve when they receive the right instruction, meaningful feedback, and opportunities to grow before the moment when performance matters most.
